In compliance with the Safe Patient Care (Nurse to Patient and Midwife to Patient Ratios) Amendment Act 2019, as at February 2021, Djerriwarrh Health Services roster nurses and midwives according to the following ratios:
Mixed Wards

Ward MSU: Medical/Surgical/ Palliative Care
The name of the mixed ward: MSU- 18 beds
The total number of occupied beds in the mixed ward: 12 beds (10 x medical/ Surgical and 2 x Palliative
The different ratios that would apply to each portion;
Medical Surgical:Morning Shift: 1 RN/EN to every 5 patients plus in charge,
Afternoon Shift: 1 RN/EN to every 6 patients plus in charge,
Night Shift: 1 RN/EN to every 10 patients
Palliative:
Morning Shift: 1 RN/EN to every 4 patients plus in charge,
Afternoon Shift: 1 RN/EN to every 5 patients plus in charge,
Night Shift: 1 RN/EN to every 8 patients
The expected number of occupied beds in each portion of the ward during the following 6- month period: 12 beds
Maternity
Djerriwarrh Health Services provides maternity care for:
- Women and their babies requiring Maternity assessment/postnatal care ( after the birth of their baby); and
- Women who are delivering their baby following a low-risk pregnancy
