Details of Service:

Western Health accepts referrals for patients until age 16 years who require assessment and management of general conditions, autism assessments, and developmental delays.

The Paediatric services at Western Health Service are both publicly and Medicare Benefit Scheme (MBS) funded. These services are bulk billed and therefore there is no out of pocket fee associated with this service.

Please ensure that all referrals have a clinicians name on it or it will be unable to be accepted.

The service provides support for the following conditions:

  • Autism
  • Developmental Delay
  • ADHD
  • General Conditions
  • Behaviour concerns
  • Weight Management

Current Session Times

All sessions are located at Melton Health and Community Services Green Building and 10 Turner Street, Bacchus Marsh.

Paediatric Medical appointments are offered on Monday through to Friday.

Important Information:

Please ensure that all recent blood tests, pathology etc are attached to the referrals.

Providing relevant investigations and results will assist in appropriate and timely triage of your patients.

Patients already accessing Paediatric Services and those requesting a second opinion are not eligible.

The following conditions are NOT able to be seen at Western Health and it is suggested they are referred to a tertiary hospital.

  • Acute crisis intervention
  • Acute mental health problems
  • Severe behavioural problems unless part of developmental disability
  • Surgical requests
  • Anorexia in children (please refer to Royal Children’s Hospital)
