At Bacchus Marsh, Physiotherapy is offered in a hospital setting to clients of the Pre Admission Clinic, Hospital in the Home program, and residential care as well as inpatients and outpatients.
At the Bacchus Marsh, Melton and Caroline Springs Community Health Centres a variety of conditions are treated with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention and management of chronic disease.
At Melton Health, Physiotherapists provide a comprehensive initial rehabilitation service for acute conditions aiming to restore each patient’s functional independence within the limitations of their condition or injury. Physiotherapists are involved in the Orthopaedic, Chronic Disease Management, Day Rehabilitation and General Medicine programs. They work closely with the Physiotherapists at Community Health to ensure care is provided to the patient at the most appropriate site for each patient’s needs.A limited paediatric physiotherapy service is also available at Melton Health (see paediatric program).
|Eligibility||Any person who has been referred from a GP, hospital, or other healthcare provider. Self referrals are accepted for Community Health clients and those with acute injuries wishing to attend Melton Health.|
|Access hours||Monday to Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm.|
|Referral process||Referrals are accepted from General Practitioners, Medical Specialists, other health professionals, hospitals or self-referrals.|
|Cost to client|| |
Pension or Health Care Card holders pay a reduced fee.Community Health clients who do not hold a Pension or Health Care Card must complete a income self declaration form to determine fee payable and are charged in line with the Department of Health Primary Health Programs Fee Policy.
