Health Promotion

The Western Health Health Promotion Team works in partnership with people who work, live, learn and play in the City of Melton and the Moorabool Shire to achieve better health and wellbeing.

Through the 2021-25 planning cycle, key priority areas for our team in the Melton and Moorabool communities include Healthy Eating, Active Living, Mental Health, Gender Equity and Tobacco and Vaping. We work across schools, early years settings, sporting clubs and in the broader community through engagements in events and localised projects.

Now available Sustainability and Climate change resources

To assist primary school teachers incorporate food literacy and knowledge of sustainability practices into their class room a  collection of lesson plans and teaching resources has been developed. Read more


The Health Promotion team has worked across a variety of settings and engaged a broad range of community members and stakeholders. Health Promotion at  has been marked by a number of key achievements including:

  2. A strong partnership approach
  3. Systems change through healthy policies
  4. Innovation 

Community Wellbeing Grants

In an effort to build and strengthen community partnerships, the Health Promotion team created a Community Wellbeing Grant project where Schools, Sporting Clubs and Early Learning Centres could apply for up to $2000 to fund an initiative that addressed healthy eating, physical activity or mental health within their community.
