Maternity Renovation Project
Djerriwarrh Health Services Maternity unit will be going through a renovation commencing 18th April 2017
The renovations will occur in two stages which will allow Djerriwarrh Health Services to continue to delivery maternity services to the Community. Initially the builders will erect a new entrance into the Maternity unit and you will see boarding go up at the front entrance of the Hospital which will contain a hallway into the Maternity Unit. If you are planning to birth at Bacchus Marsh Hospital you might like to come over and have a tour during one of your antennal visits. There still will be sufficient room for patient transport and other vehicles dropping off patients to still drive through the existing front entrance.
The Maternity Service will not be affected by the building works and will continue to function whilst the building program occurs. We will try to keep the noise to a minimum during the building process however there will be times when it will get noisy, we apologise for any inconvenience.
This exciting project will increase the number of post-delivery beds in the Maternity Unit from 11 to 15, catering for up to 1200 births per annum. It will also allow an upgrade of nurse workstations, delivery suites and the entire maternity department as well as the inclusion of a three-bay nursery.
